Spirited Away is the story of Chihiro, a 10-year-old girl in the midst of a move to the suburbs, who wanders into a mysterious town and finds an "other world" of gods and monsters, ruled over by a witch. There, humans are changed into animals and disappear.
To survive in this new world, she must take on a new name (Sen), and goes to work in a huge bathhouse patronized by bizarre beings. Will she find a way back to her own world, or will she fall victim to what is causing the disappearances?
