Near the end of World War II, moments after learning of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, the Ra, a super secret Japanese submarine has a fatal encounter with its American counterpart and both are lost to history. Now, some fifty years later, the descendants of the submarine officers are part a special UN task force sent to investigate the unusual phenomenon, which have recently begun occurring in Antarctica. Faced with a mysterious black cylinder and the deadly rings that accompany it, the task force faces certain destruction until the re-appearance of the Ra. However, will even the Ra''s awesome power be enough to stand against the invaders from inside the Earth?
